Arthur Van Der Harten, Senior Associate, Acoustics Arthur has 10+ years in acoustic consulting and the building industry in general and has worked on a broad range of projects around the world. His knowledge of high-end room acoustics, mechanical noise control, sound isolation construction techniques and environmental noise mitigation is supplemented by strong proficencies in computation. Since 2008, he has been developing an open source software platform for acoustical simulation which has been recognized in design and technology publications such as Architecture Design (AD) and Wired UK. Stemming from a background in architecture from his Bachelor Degree studies, Arthur is fascinated by the avant-garde in computational architecture and design. Recent years have been spent with a modeling group of an internal multi-disciplinary building physics and computation group for one of the world’s most admired architecture firms. His recent program development activities have centered on developing tools that quickly analyze data, assess existing conditions and design options, and generate visualizations / auralizations that help clients and partners make informed decisions. Arthur regularly lectures at academic workshops for acoustics computation worldwide. |
