Hamilton College – Kevin and Karen Kennedy Center for Theatre and the Studio Arts

New $46.8 M, 86,400 SF facility houses academic, performance and studio spaces for theatre and studio arts departments.  In addition to two performance spaces, building features include a recording suite, computer classrooms and a video production room complete with a green screen, overhead lighting, a camera / playback monitor and radio drama studio space.

AD’s team provided acoustics and AV system design.  AV system design included integrated control system with tie-in of studios, rehearsal spaces and performance spaces to recording suite.  Classroom technology included content sharing capabilities to foster strong levels of collaboration and artistic creativity.

Acoustic designed accommodated speech intelligibility and sound isolation for performance and instructional spaces.  Functionality requirements required environments conducive to collaboration and dialogue and simultaneous use of spaces with minimal disruption to each other.
